For more information please see our FAQs which can help you to see how osteopathy can help you to feel better again.
We give longer treatment session than most because we find the best results come with the most careful and thorough approach. This way we can get to the bottom of even the most complex and long term complaint. However, despite this we do not charge any more than most. Before we offer you an appointment we will discuss your or your child's case with you on the telephone to ensure Osteopathy is a suitable treatment, If after this we are still not sure whether Osteopathy would help, we may offer you a free 10 minute consultation at the clinic.

Our charges are:
Adult's initial consultation (60 - 90 minutes) £55
Adult follow-up consultation (40 minutes) £38*
Children's initial consultation (60 - 90 minutes) £50
Children's follow-up consultation (40 minutes) £35*

*Family Rate: £5 off each follow-up consultation when a parent and child (or two children in the same family), have follow-up consultations in the same fortnight. The fee for each follow-up consultation would then be £30 for a child(ren) and £33 for an adult. Each person must first have had their Initial Consultation at the normal rate. The child must still be in full-time education.

At the initial consultation a case history is taken, examinations are performed as necessary, the first treatment is given and any exercises or precautions are explained. At follow-up sessions there is a short interview followed by treatment (exercises and precautions are reviewed as necessary). The number of treatments required depends on how long the symptoms have been going on and how many contributary factors exist.
Back Pain
The vast majority of patients who see an Osteopath will do so because of back or neck pain.
Osteopathic treatment is widely regarded as the established treatment for mechanical problems of the spine. NICE (the National Institute of Clinical Excellence) guidelines recommend manual therapies including osteopathy for the treatment of low back pain.

Osteopathy is a safe and natural approach to health care for all life stages. Osteopaths use a variety of treatments techniques depending on the individual patient, their symptoms, their response to treatment and the treatment type they prefer. A specialised form of osteopathy known as Cranial Osteopathy is gentle, yet effective and is ideal for the treatment of babies, young children and adults with long term complaints.
Osteopathy for the body
Osteopaths consider you from a mechanical, functional and postural viewpoint aiming to aid the body’s ability to function with a minimum of wear, stress and energy.

Osteopaths are highly trained and know what we can and cannot treat safely. We take time and care to make sure we understand what is wrong and how we may help. Osteopaths’ extensive training means that we can recognise conditions that may need medical help or that may make osteopathic treatment inappropriate or unsafe. In these cases we will refer you to your specialist or GP (with a detailed letter where necessary).
Osteopathy is a refined and precise form of manual treatment that aims to relax any tension throughout the whole body thereby restoring good movement to each and every joint. Various techniques are selected by your Osteopath to acheive the best results for you.

Techniques used vary from firm to extremely gentle and so Osteopaths may safely treat people of all ages and throughout pregnancy.
Techniques may include deep massage (and other methods of
muscle tension release), passive stretching (i.e. you relax whilst
your osteopath stretchs you), joint release techniques of various
types, cranial osteopathy.
