Children who regularly complain of aches and pains may benefit from Osteopathic
treatment. It may be that there is undue tension in their body frame and that
this is interfering with natural function. Tension may be the result of
accidents, illnesses or difficulties around the time of birth.
Tension may also be associated with the rate at which the child’s skeleton is growing. Rapid growth stretches the soft tissues and may even
cause slight abnormalities to occur in weak points of the skeleton. Stress and
inherited family tendencies must also be born in mind.
As Osteopaths’ our extensive training give us the capability to assess each individual in
detail, identifying areas where we may help. It also gives us the ability to
spot conditions that may need medical attention in which cases we refer the individual to their GP (with a letter where necessary).
We ask that the parent or guardian of any child under 16 remains in the
treatment room throughout each treatment.
