Back ache, Back pain, Sciatica and Muscle Spasm

Did you know that the NICE guidelines (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) recommend manual treatment such as Osteopathy for the treatment of Low back pain and Sciatica?
We treat back problems that give anything from occasional niggles to severe pain. With our extensive training it is safe to be treated by an Osteopath.
  • Sciatica may come on on its own or with back pain and is usually felt as pain, tingling, numbness or weakness in your legs and/or feet. Osteopaths are trained to assess and treat sciatica.
  • Back pain can range from discomfort now and then to attacks of severe pain. Osteopaths are trained to assess and treat the whole range.
  • Muscle Spasms are very painful, making your back feel “locked”. Our treatment and advice should have you feeling better in no time.

Osteopathy really does work, providing relief from pain, stiffness, tension and trapped nerves.

Ring 01905 45 45 50 for an appointment or to speak to one of our Osteopaths.

At your first appointment we will:

a)  start by investigating the underlying causes of your symptoms. We do this by asking you about yourself, assessing your posture, your movements and your reflexes (where necessary)

b)  explain to you the diagnosis reached and, with your consent, treat you using a range of treatment techniques chosen especially to suit you and your symptoms

c) explain how soon you should feel better, advise you on do’s and don’ts, show you some exercises where necessary, advise you on how much treatment you may need.

At the end of your appointment there is time to pay for your consultation and book your next appointment if one is necessary.
In between appointments you can ring or email us if you have any questions.

Treatment for Back pain and Sciatica

We choose treatment techniques to suit your symptoms and body type. We will discuss the treatment options with you as we go along. We will only use techniques you are happy with.

Our range of techniques includes:

physical manipulation, joint release techniques, stretching, massage and cranial osteopathy. We may also use ultra sound and a form of Acupuncture called dry needling.

The Secret of our Success? We take time, we’re precise and we’re thorough. As Osteopaths we recognise that there may be many contributing factors to your symptoms. Therefore we evaluate not only the area where you feel your symptoms but also associated areas that may be contributing. We also consider your past traumas (accidents/illnesses/surgery/stresses), your posture, lifestyle and occupation and your family’s health history as well. Identifying all the possible causes problem enables us to work out  what you may need to recover.
