Headaches, migraines and dizzyness that are associated with neck tension may be
effectively treated by osteopathy. We aim to improve the function of your neck
muscles and joints using techniques such as mobilisation, massage and
manipulation. Techniques vary from firm to gentle (you may choose which, if you
are apprehensive).
We may also advise you on how to help yourself via neck exercises and the
awareness of certain lifestyle factors thought to contribute to headaches and
migraine.
As Registered Osteopaths we are highly trained and so know what we can and
cannot treat safely. We take time and care to make sure we understand what is
wrong and how we may help. Osteopaths’ extensive training means that we can recognise conditions that may need medical
help or that may make osteopathic treatment inappropriate or unsafe. In these
cases we will refer the patient to his or her specialist or GP (with a detailed
letter where necessary).
If you suffer from aches and pains you may well have too much tension in your
muscles. This may be because of:-
the job you do
streses and strains you are under
a weakness that relates to a past injury
poor posture
the onset of wear and tear
and many, many other factors.
Osteopathy may help by alleviating muscle tension and improving joint
flexibility, allowing you to relax. We may also give you tips on posture and
exercise to help you keep the aches and pains at bay.
