Many runners experience leg, groin or back pain and this may force them to
curtail their exercise plans.
High impact exercise, such as running on roads, can create an accumulating
burden of shock in the lower legs. The muscle tension this may cause can
increase your chances of achilles problems, shin splints, knee pain, plantar
faciitis and the like.
Appropriate footwear, physical fitness and regular careful stretching will help
to reduce your likelihood of injury but when sports injuries do occur or you
find yourself with muscle tension, joint pain or sciatica we may be able to
help.
Osteopathic treatment may be directed at your muscles or your joints or both,
depending on your condition. We may also have advice for you on warming up /
down and stretching.
