Tennis uses your dominant arm and shoulder much more than the other side and so
overuse strains are common.
We have a great success rate in dealing with such strains whether they be hand,
wrist, forearm, elbow or shoulder we should be able to help. Osteopaths also
treat the results of falls and general back strain as a matter of course so
come and have a “once over” and put the spring back in your stride.
“Tennis elbow” generally results from long term overuse of the forearm muscles leading to
inflammation at the place where some of them join to the bone at the elbow. It
causes tenderness in the forearm and elbow on the thumb side when your hand is
facing upwards (Golfers elbow is the same thing on the little finger side)
Tennis elbow is not actually all that common among tennis players but it is
very common among catering staff who have to lift heavy trays and who use their
hands and fingers heavily. Whether you are a tennis player of a heavy lifter we
can help you get better. Please ring to discuss your case.
