My pelvic joint pain was so severe that I couldn’t get out of bed unless I did it in slow motion and I had to think carefully about every step I took. This all happened at 14 weeks and I wondered how on earth I was going to make it to the end. I went to the osteopath and I couldn’t believe the results. Straight away I could stand up straight and walk normally! By the next day, there was only a hint of the old pain left. I had one more treatment for niggles that remained and that was it. A month later the pain came back in a milder form so I went to my osteopath again and it has never returned since even through my other pregnancies. I did have treatment in between my pregnancies to ease the backache of hauling a car seat around. Some of my friends had NHS Physio but were only offered a support belt and an exercise sheet.
